Why would you want Satan's organization to know the truth? Ha!
How does this even fit with scripture? Oh yeah, that's right, Rahab. Another great example of the unerring and inspired word of God.
just noticed this gem of a definition in the current (no 1) wt.
"lying.
saying something false to someone who is entitled to know the truth.".

another thread got me thinking of this issue.
i don't think you'll ever come across a set of people with such a skewed and twisted outlook on life.. my memory serves me well when i recall a sort of blood lusting excitement over things like the 9/11 atrocities.
in fact i remember jw's describing the event as 'sad but exciting.
Vidiot - same experience here. Reinforces that good old persecution complex and makes them skeptical of who/what drives 'worldly success'. Never looking at why Gawd would show disfavor to his loyal servants by making things hard for them. Only until it is useful of course to reference a hypocritical experience of some blessed loyal servant's prayers being answered... Jah takes care of the needs of his sheeple then with no credit to Satan!!
I guess that 'sister' will be looking for extra educational opportunities now that the Theocraptic Misery Shoal has become outmoded. Best 'sales' training?? Seriously? She said that without realizing what she was saying??
gardening is my physical activity thing.
i like to have a productive garden but dot it with a bit of pretty.
the front lawn is around 40m2 and i am converting it to potager this year.
christmas means nothing to me.
i have no abiding, cosy, childhood memories of it.. i don't buy presents or cards....i have to be reminded.. i feel a bit weird.
people are celebrating and saying: 'i'm feeling christmassy.'.
I hear you! Just another day and a month long heinous song build up that I must be subjected to at the supermarket.
PS thanks (not) for putting that "other" long since forgotten song in mine.
I find it hard to get into gift giving at xmas, especially to my kids. People asking if I have done my xmas shopping. Sometimes easier to just say yes.
I cannot recall what we ever did around xmas. Not a lot.
So I feel and hear you and "get" it. Having an xmas bbq with beers at the beach and a couple of non jw friends this year. Have a good one whatever you do.

just a little disclaimer: english isn't my first language (i'm from france) thus the poor writing skills.here is the situation: i'm not a jw.
however, i'm in the process of becoming one.
in fact, i'm studying with the jw's, and i'll proceed to become an unbaptized publisher as soon as i finish the first book.to make a long story short i was introduced to the truth when i was 18een.
my 94 year old jw dad is now in hospital--i visit him every day.. in the opposite corner of the ward were a group of visitors to an oldish chap.
my dub-dar caught words like kingdom hall and watchtower from the rather loud voiced woman i took to be the patients wife.
she also mentioned a dub by name ive known for 40+years--so i guessed they are in the local congregation to my dad.. as i was leaving--the woman said to me--"what a loving --dutiful son i am.
hello first of all to those that remember me.
i'm doing well, 10 years since my missionary trip to cameroon.
i've met a couple of goals.

was just out shopping and came across two middle aged female witnesses with their magazine trolley..
i approached them and they were all glee and smiles and ready to hand me a couple of magazines.
one moment ladies i have just a couple of questions..
my parents were always of the belief that, "the end is right around the corner".. i was a zealous kid, with a learning disorder, so my parents never gave me a hard time or pushed me in regards to my education.. this not only hurt me, but, pissed me off insanely.
fast forward to me having my own kid.
ava is not doing well in school.
Cognac - my humble opinion is that it is impossible for you to fail your daughter.
Agree with Sabin. Eye and ear test. My son didn't actually speak until he was 5 because apparently "he just didn't want to". The best thing about having all those tests done was that it proved my son wasn't incapable. He baffled 'them' all and now he's a successful career man in the visual digi arts. Another good thing for the testing was I didn't feel like I had failed him somehow as a parent.
Don't give yourself a hard time. Who knows what amazing, gifted talent your Ava has that she hasn't exhibited yet. Go with the flow and if you sense stifling, back off. Not everyone needs academia to make a success of life :)
